The Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club and Rainier Valley Teen Center strive to impact and develop youth through programming with a holistic and well-rounded approach. These programs are categorized into five distinct areas:
 Character & Leadership Development Programs in this core program area help youth become respnsible, caring citizens, and acquire skills for participating in the democractic process
Education & Career Exploration Programs in this core program area enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career
Health & Life Skills Programs in this core program area develop young people's capacity to enagage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully
The Arts and Sports Programs in this core program area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing
Sports, Fitness & Recreation Programs in this core program area develop athletic appreciation, fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress managment, appreciation for the environment and social skills
