By partnering with community organizations with similar missions, the Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club can broaden the program offerings and provide new and different opportunities to expose the youth to unique experiences. Rainier Vista B&GC plans to bring together organizations with varying expertise and programming strengths. The goal is that the organizations will gain access to strengths they may not currently possess that are present in other community partners.
Rainier Vista B&GC will include several community agencies and many part-time or occasional users. Co-location of the agencies will align the strengths of each organization to better serve the youth and others in the community. By working together the agencies will generate outcomes neither organization could achieve on their own, therefore enhancing the children’s learning opportunities.

Apple Corps, a program of Solid Ground
Obesity and other nutrition-related preventable diseases have increased in Washington State, especially among children. If families and communities do not intervene, children are at risk of a lifetime of health and academic problems.
Apple Corps responds to these growing health crises by placing a team of AmeriCorps National Service Members in school and community organizations directly serving children and families to raise nutrition and fitness awareness. We also develop schools’ and local organizations’ resources to sustainably implement nutrition and fitness programs. Apple Corps adapts services to the needs of specific communities — so no two projects are exactly the same.

Phone workers can also give you information on other agencies that serve youth throughout Washington State.
Teen Link also offers Youth Suicide Prevention Presentations to schools and agencies that serve youth. Youth are encouraged to talk openly about stress, coping mechanisms, warning signs and how to help a friend who may be considering suicide.
